Free Earnings Check

Every buyer starts from your tax returns. Before one does, find out how the profit you'd tell them compares, and which add-backs would hold up.

  • Your last three years of business tax returns tied to your P&L
  • The add-backs a buyer would likely accept, question or reject, and what documents each would need
  • The items buyers' accountants ask about first
  • A 30-minute call to walk through it, with a short written summary

Request your Earnings Check

What you'll share

  • Three years of business federal tax returns, all pages
  • A year-to-date profit and loss statement and balance sheet
  • A short questionnaire about owner expenses and one-time items, which Dan sends with the upload link

Please don't email financials. After you request the check, Dan sends a secure upload link. Your documents are used only for your check and deleted on request.

How it works

  1. Request the check with the form.
  2. Dan emails a secure upload link within one business day.
  3. He reviews what you share, usually within a week of receiving it.
  4. You talk it through on a 30-minute call and get a short written summary.

What it is, and what it isn't

The Earnings Check is a preliminary review, based only on the documents and answers you provide. It is meant to show you what a buyer is likely to question before a buyer sees it.

It is not an audit, a review engagement, an appraisal, a valuation or tax advice, and nothing in it has been tested against your bank records. Dan is a sell-side M&A advisor, not a CPA. For tax questions, he'll point you to your own CPA.

Everything you share is confidential. Dan won't share your information or your interest in selling with anyone without your permission.
